What is Document Imaging?
Document Imaging enables paper documents to be stored electronically, rather than in large filing cabinets. Paper files are scanned and stored in secure databases for easy, immediate retrieval.
How can SansCarta's Document Imaging lower costs?
- Storage space is decreased – Document Imaging eliminates off-site storage fees and frees up space consumed by metal filing containers.
- Time spent searching company records is reduced – Document Imaging places company files in a central location for easy access via the Internet. Enhanced search functions and immediate accessibility allow employees to spend time working on files rather than searching for them.
- Costs of printing, photocopying and mailing paper documents are lowered –
Document Imaging helps companies decrease their paper consumption costs by enabling customers to directly fax or email documents, avoiding the need to first print the documents. In addition, the file upload function allows customers to import documents directly from their computer to the online storage center.
How can SansCarta's Document Imaging decrease risk?
Floods, fire, hurricanes and earthquakes place an organizations paper files at risk every day. Document imaging decreases the risk of storing paper files by providing a safe, electronic means of storing important files. With document imaging, you can rest assured that your historic data will be safe even if all the paper documents in your building are destroyed.
How do I know my files are secure?

Who has access to my electronic files?
As a customer, you determine who accesses your electronic filing containers. Our customers are given complete control over user functions allowing each owner of a file container to assign users and security levels as they wish.
Can I edit documents stored in my filing cabinet?
To ensure safe storage, the actual imaged documents may not be edited or altered in any way from their original format. However, you can download the document, make edits and re-upload the document under a different name.
